Synthetic Customer Persona Back to the tool

How your data is handled

Last updated: 14 September 2026

The Synthetic Customer Persona tool creates a fictional customer persona from information you provide, lets you interview that persona, and produces a written debrief of the conversation.

What happens to what you type

The text you enter is sent to Anthropic, which operates the AI model behind the tool, and the response is returned to your browser. Anthropic is based in the United States and processes this information there, under a data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses.

Anthropic processes this under its commercial terms. Your content is not used to train AI models. Content is not retained after your request has been answered, except where it is flagged by Anthropic's automated safety systems, in which case it may be held for up to two years.

What to enter, and what not to

Enter information about your own product or service, and about the kind of customer you are trying to reach.

Please do not enter personal information about a real, identifiable person. Describe your target customer by their role, their organisation and their situation rather than by name. If you are working from a real person's profile, remove their name and any contact details first.

The persona the tool creates is fictional and deliberately different from whatever you describe, so it does not need anybody's identity to work.

What is not kept

There is no database. Nothing you type is stored on our servers.

The persona, the conversation and the debrief exist only in your browser. They are lost when you close the tab or reload the page. There are no accounts, no logins and no cookies, and nothing is saved to your device unless you choose to download a PDF, which is created in your browser and saved wherever you put it.

Because nothing is stored, we cannot recover a conversation for you, and we cannot see what you wrote.

What is counted

We count how often the tool is used, so that we can manage the licence and understand how the tool is being used.

For each cohort access code we record the number of personas created, the number of messages exchanged, the number of debriefs produced, and the dates of first and last use.

These are numbers only. They are not linked to you, they contain no part of what you typed, and they cannot be traced back to an individual. The tool has no way of telling one participant from another.

Who sees this

The usage figures are available to Synthetic Futures Ltd, which operates the tool. An institution holding a licence can be given access to the figures for its own cohorts, which are the numbers described above and nothing further.
